Records that date as far back as the late 19th century provide details of members of the Leahy family providing services as legal professionals in Limerick. An extract taken from the Irish Law Times in May 1895 notes that Mr. Maurice P. Leahy was admitted as a solicitor in 1869 and was Sessional Crown Solicitor for the City and County of Limerick for a number of years acting for the Crown in several notable prosecutions. In a tribute to him following his death, he was described as a professional who “acted in a spirit of fairness and courtesy to the accused”.

William Leahy snr, father of our senior partner, was a founding member of Leahy & Son Solicitors in 1958, a well respected practice in the South West for many years. Today, Leahy & Partners, whose senior partner is an eight generation lawyer, continues the traditions and style of practice of its fore runners.
